This is a question I ask almost every day as I get older, not in a negative way, but rather with great anticipation as to how He will choose to use me for His glory, not mine.
I will be 71 years old on the 25th of this month and really look forward to many more years. But I fully reakize that He holds the keys to life and death, and my ways are not his ways. That is why I live each day for that day and try not to figure out the next.
This life I have is a gift from God, and looking at it in any other way would show my pride, and I know God is not pleased with self pride. If I have anything to be proud of, it is that He has given me many chances and always loved me thru my mistakes and failures.
The Word of God says we can expect three score and ten, and after that anything we get is a bonus; we all know we can spend a bonus any way we want. With that in mind, I would like to use my bonus time to serve Him.
With the economy as it is, we are all aware of our spending and try to conserve as much as we can. This unexpected bonus I have received will be used in a way that will a blessing for others.
My question each day is, “What will you have me do today,” and then do it. It seems the more I obey, the more he allows me to not do but experience.
Prodigals are blessed, but not before they come home to be with their father. I know from experience, and if you are wandering around, afraid to come home, don’t wait any longer. The Father is waiting and he has a bonus awaiting you if you will come home.
You are never too far from home to not get back; the Holy Spirit is your GPS and will show you every turn.
