The title of this post is really a declaration. 2009 is going to be very busy, at least from where I sit. Friday and Saturday nights are set aside for Lernerville and Mercer, in that order.
I have told almost everyone over the last few years that I am happy to do their wedding if they so desire, however the one rule I have is that I need to be at the track by race time. Some may think this is strange, butthink about this…you wouldn’t ask your Pastor to not go to his or her church on Sunday morning.
I look at the race track as my church, my flock to serve, and this is my ministry that I’m called to. It’s not a hobby for me. All of you are very important to God, and you are important to me also. It is my deepest desire to serve you with all that is in me. I hope you will understand what I do and why I do it .
The diversity of God’s children at the race track is really what I desired during all the of years I was blessed to serve in what is called the ‘normal‘ Church. I must say, for me, I am now serving the most real and ‘normal’ Church I have ever been in. Every week I look forward to the things that make race track ministry so rewarding.
The most exciting part of my life is seeing the people that are a part of the racing community. I will continue this as long as needed, and if I see clearly, there is no end in sight.
Thanks to all of you that have been so great over the years. As this season begins I will be where you, to serve you in any way needed.
Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and ask yourself what season you are in.
See you at the track.
