For those of you that don’t know, Jeff Schrum has had major surgery and will be recuperating for quite a while. There will be a SPAGHETTI DINNERĀ on JUNE 28th AT CANFIELD HIGH SCHOOL FROM NOON UNTIL 5.
This event is being planned by his wife Jenny’s co-workers, and will include a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, and bake sale. As I understand, there will be some very valuable prizes for the auction.
For more information you can call (330)506-3257 or (330)398-5699 or contact me through this site and I will assist you. Lets make this fundraiser a huge success; it will be appreciated by all.
Jeff is doing well and is trusting God for a full recovery. Won’t you add your prayers to those that are already being offered? The racing family is a great family and I am sure you will rally to the need.
I just left Twin States Racing meeting and was excited to see Bill Banick Sr at the meeting. This is why we have a club, so guys like Bill can share some of their memories and we can be better informed. Bill had a stroke a while back but is doing pretty well, and this type of friendship is good therapy. Thanks, Bill, for all the great racing stories you have to share.
Yesterday I visited Tom Paxton at Grove City hospital where he is recovering from heart surgery. He has had a long time in the hospital, and is looking forward to a full recovery. His wife Nancy talks about his racing days with great joy and also about his long time friend Skinny Hall. As long as I can remember, where you saw one, you saw the other. Pray for this to happen again and soon.
We are heading into Memorial Day weekend and a lot of specials. Please take a few minutes and pray for the races and all the people involved, and mostly that we don’t forget why we have this holiday, and the price that has been paid for our freedom. It came with great cost and we should never forget that.
It is said there are two heroes providing our freedom – Jesus giving his life on the cross and the American soldier giving his life on the battlefield. Don’t ever forget either one.
Thank you Jesus
Thank you soldier
