This past year has posed more questions for me than I have been able to answer, especially the way I am some times expected to answer.
As you all know, we in the racing family have been tested with some very difficult trials. We have faced cancer, heart problems, kidney disease, and many other physical needs. Then there is the economy, accidents, and the list seems to have no end.
My next statement is not very popular, even though it is true – the end will never be finished until we reach Heaven. That said, we still ask, “WHY?!”
We are not promised that we will live on easy street all our lives. As I have become a reader of the Bible, I see one thing that has given me the strength to get up each day and face any thing that comes my way. I will never say it doesn’t bother me, as I would not be telling the truth.
When I find myself getting down about an issue, then it is time to seek God with all the strength I can find. Although it may seem like much when I give my little, Jesus will increase it and then I will see some break through in what had looked impossible before. Remember, God was, is, and always will be, the answer.
I have said all that in answer to the question I have heard over and over from so many people in the last year, “Why are we having all this trouble?” The answer is that we live in a fallen world. You may say that you don’t, and my question to you is, how are you so sure? Have you given everything to God, or are you still holding out on him?
In this world, we are afraid to hold out on a loan shark for fear of the consequences, but we think little or nothing about holding out on Jesus. It makes me sad to tell you He loves us but He will hold us accountable for the way we ignore Him.
If you are in the midst of some really bad stuff in your life, let me suggest something for you to try. First, turn your life and all it’s problems over to Jesus, and not just until the bad stuff stops, but forever. And then, begin to read the Bible, not just for a quick fix, but to begin forming a new life.
I will assure you if you do those two simple things and really mean it and don’t ever quit, you will be able to answer your own WHY question, and also be able to help others along the way.
2 Timothy chapter 4 is a good place to read and if that isn’t what you are looking for keep searching the scriptures.
In Christ,
Bill
