« A busy weekend fo me. | Home | The fire that falls on our lives. »
Happy fall season the leaves are coming down the weather is getting cold this is nothing new it is called seasonal change this happens in every life and circumstance.
Why do I make my title a question ,it is because I often wonder if we assume it is only made for our personal desires and pleasures ,I will be the first to admit great races make the weekend better but there are other things we need to do also.
Family time comes to mind first but is usually not our priority second many times is time out for the worship God desires from each of us,why do we not take the time to spend some weekends with him ,in no way do I want to condem anyone in anyway But.
There is that big word again but I will get to church next week have you noticed how next week has a way of never getting here,I wonder if we say next week I will go to that big race but dont go will they hold the race until you do go?
Jesus is not a race track I have realized he more than temporary entertainment he is our source of eternal joy.
My weekends like yours are filled with racing but enhanced with the things of God that is why I love being with all of you every time I have the opportunity this year so far I have 85 races under my belt and really desire more but not without the blessing of Jesus .
Many years ago when I was racing motorcycles I would bow my head on the starting line and ask God to bless me it was what I needed ,most times I hoped no one would notice except him ,I wanted him to bless me but I didnt really take the time to thank him .
Today my thoughts are much different than back then you see he didnt change I did and he loved me through it all.
Racing is a major part of my life and so are all the people in the racing family and serving all of you each week is a real honor, now that the season is slowing down why not try the pit gate of your local church the admission has been paid 2000 years ago by a man named Jesus and he is inviting you to his home all you have to do is say yes then share this wonderful experience with me some time soon.
See you at the races ,
