Still in the battle for Judy

June 20, 2011

I have tried to not use this site for personal things but it has become necessary so I don’t have to post in more than one place.

Judy is going to have a CT scan to rule out intestinal problems then we will continue to search for the reason she is in such pain she is highly sensitive to pain meds and as a result has to endure much pain.

We have been blessed by the raceing family with an outpouring of prayer support you will never know how much that means when you are in a situation like this and I hope you never have to have this experience but if you do that you will have the same support.

Tomorrow is a new day and we will face it with all the strength Gods will give us ,he has promised never to give us more than we can stand and we know that to be true.

Last Saturday at Mercer where she told me I had to go was a wonderful time where the drivers are asking for personal prayer and thanking God for their safety and success that is what brings joy to my heart.

I will restrict my travel until Judy is in a better mode of health I wont be where I cant reach her within 20 minutes that has to be at this time and we pray when she has a correct diagnosis we will resume normal activities.

I miss my trips to Lernerville on Friday where I have made many wonderful friends in the last few years and the management has welcomed me with such love ,I am trying to find others to fill in for me for a while but never want to give up this wonderful place where I am permitted to share Jesus.

Thank you Bill Altman and Mercer Raceway Park for who you are we love you and the track, also thank you Gary and crew at Lernerville Speedway for who you are we love you and value your friendship.

Praying for health and healing for all

Welcome summer time!!!!

June 2, 2011

Summer is not offical until 6-21-11 but the preview we have had in the last few days is wonderful and even so I have heard many complaints about the heat I have no intention to complain I had enough cold to last me for a lifetime.

My yard is now dry enough to mow but for the first time in over 50 years I was forced to pay to have it done so I will be able to take care of it by myself things change and so must we if we want to maintain a normal life.

Racing season is now in full swing and on my end producing some unique opportunities ,I have had many occasions to minister to racing families in many ways I think this is why I am a Chaplain with  M.R.O.A. .

The challenges in this arena are varied and have both joys and sorrows in the prosess in my opinion many more than when I was a Church Pastor and I must say it is a great way to serve Jesus.

I am still on the search to find some serious men and women that would like to come along side of me so that if or when I am not capable of serving this way the ministry wont dissolve.

I am asking for a big commitment and I know it is difficult and if you want you can find many reasons to say no,let me tell you if you are serious God will make a way he did for me and now I am looking for someone or ones to continue with this and the take it to the next level, will you please pray about this and get in touch with me.

Qualification be born again .saved or how ever you define being a committed christian and willing to love people and work hard and trust more than ever before.

Happy summer

M.R.O.A. Chaplains week.

May 8, 2011

The past week has been very intense for me I have just put in a very satisfying week with Jesus by serving my friends.

M.R.O.A. Chaplains are not single sighted we have a great amount of flexibility and therefore I also serve as Chaplain for any Patriot Guard functions I attend that is a Motor Cycle event to ride to military funerals and honor our fallen heroes where the westboro protesters show up,this week we rode on the funeral detail for Capt. McClimans in Jamestown Penna. thank God it was peaceful with no incidents, this involved two days of cold and wet riding.

Please we that ride are not heroes we are serving the real Heroes it is just what we do like what they were doing when the gave their lives for you and I,Tuesday I  left en the dark nd pouring rain to meet other riders that had ridden 3 hours in the rain to escort Josh’s body from the Air Force base to his home town what an honor then day 2 the funeral and another early start but this day no rain we were joined by about 130 other riders for another time of serving there is no way to describe what you feel you just bathe in the experience.

This is part of my week that is puncuated by times of tent making to allow me to have such life changing experiences, next up off to Lernerville speedway for friday night racing at its best ,again when I arrive I am greeted with warm words and kind glances from all the friends and also all the people that make the track work from the top management down to the food workers this makes it pleasant.

This night I was asked to read a prepared statement about Cancer and our fight against it followed by opening prayer then off to the pits to continue one on one ministry with the racers and their crews this is for me like a great desert after  great meal one without the other will not really make you happy.

While making my rounds a crew member from one of the teams tells me I am being paged to the pit desk as I get closer I am told to meet someone at the pit gate when I arrive I find two young men 14 & 18 that ask for prayer about their Dads death that week the details are not important for you to know only wanted to let you know there hurting teens seeking Jesus everywhere .

I arrived home about 1am in bed by 1:30 up at 7:oo am  ready for another day the first half on my motorcycle to promote a safe riding season only to run into a rider seeking the peace of God in his life more prayer and sharing Jesus then a short ride to the courthouse and a thank you to our local and state leaders, there I found out about a rider that had crashed the day before and was in the hospital so I skipped the lunch and started looking for him and in the process found two more brothers in need then home for a few hours .

Saturday 4:30 off to Mercer Raceway Park drivers meeting prater and message about Mothers Day more greetings and the owner told me he was sorry he had not talked to me last week what a class act Mr Altman is everything was going smooth until a crew member had an incident and had to have medical attention not only did the medics respond in a great way but Danny Smiths wife performed C.P.R.  they all worked as a team and quite likely saved a life more prayer from crew members ,to end the night we had a bad sprint crash but thanks be to God Mike is OK .

This is a short account of my life as a M.R.O.A. Chaplain would you like to join with this low key approach to ministry? contact me right here.

In Christs service

Chaplain Bill
