Chaplain duty away from the track.
March 27, 2011Many people ask me what I do when there are no races going on ,this is a question I sometimes am amused with, why you may ask I will try to answer.
Let me start with this a Chaplain to the race track takes in a lot of responsibities both at the track and away from the track,to name a few family members that are sick or injured ,weddings, funerals, baby dedications and the list is as extensive as you make it,that is what I do along with being a husband and father and grandfather self employed welder that depends on welding jobs to provide funds to be a Chaplain.
When I was 37 years old I would have said I cant do all these things but now I am 73 years old and it is all I want to do,you see I have a call on my life to serve God and he has been supplying every thing I need ,Oh did I mention for the last year I have assumed the duty of taking care of my wife in her recovery from a near death battle with infections.
There is a scripture in Psalms 118:13-14 that will help you as ithas me in my times of weakness and yes that weakness comes to all of us.

God’s Goodness is a Blessing
March 6, 2011The last 4 weeks have been a very busy time for me and I am certainly not complaining, only stating the facts.
I have done 3 funerals and am so thankful I have been able to serve this way for my friends, These funerals have been a blessing because all three had a personal relationship with Jesus. That is a blessing for them and me also.
This past week, as I was preparing for our trip to Altoona for Debbie’s service, I stopped and put gas in my car and used a credit card instead of cash, and to make a long story to the point, I forgot and left my wallet on the trunk of the car. When I realized what I had done, I had Judy call the credit card company and report this.
Then I simply prayed and ask God to show his favor for my stupidity, and within the hour Judy called me and said the lost wallet was found by some Ohio highway workers three miles from the gas station and everything was intact. This is a blessing; God answers prayers.
I can’t thank the men that found it and returned it to me in such a quick manner, but they are definitely to be commended for their honesty.
God is good even when we mess up. Try Him the next time you mess up. Better yet, try Him before you mess up.
In Christ
